INTRODUCTION.

Caritas Kasese started in 1989 when Kasese Diocese was curved out of Fort Portal Diocese 35 years now. It is a Faith Based Organization with its legal owner being the Local Ordinary-the Bishop and registered by the Government of Uganda as Company limited by guarantee under Registration Number 180632. Weare located in western Uganda at the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

OUR MANDATE.

OurMandate is derived from the Gospel according to Luke 4:18-19 where Jesus proclaims, “The spirit has been given to me, for he has anointed me. He has sent me to bring the good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the blind new sight, to set the down trodden free, to proclaim the Lord’s year of favor.” In the same way, caritas-Kasese imitate this gospel and puts it in real practice.

WHERE WE WORK.

Caritas-Kasese operates 14 Town Councils in the catholic diocese of Kasese (Kisinga, Kitholhu-Kinyatsi, Kirabaho-Kabatunda, Kitswamba, Muhokya, Hima, Katwe-Kabatoro, Kyarumba, Mpondwe-Lhubiriha, Kinyamaseke, Rugendabara Kikongo, Ibanda-Kyanya), 1 Municipality with 3 Divisions (Central Division, Bulembia Division, Nyamwamba Division).  it has two vast Counties of Bukonzo and Busongora with 5 Constituencies Vis Busongora County North, Busongora County South, Kasese Municipality, Bukonzo County East, and Bukounzo County West. It lies between latitudes 0o 12’S and 0o 26’N; longitudes 29o 42’E and 30o 18’E.kasese diocese comprises of 23 Sub-counties in Kasese District.
